As a visual example of attacks which occur on a global scale, have a look below at the Cyber Threat Map from our firewall manufacturer Fortinet.  It shows a slither of the real time information that passes through millions of Fortinet devices world wide.  We have such maps dedicated to our clients, that depict only the traffic connecting to and from their machines.  We have found this a really good way to visualise data connections, particularly at a time on incident management.
